My eye is on a maiden victory at Oulton Park

This weekend’s British Supersport Championship round at Oulton Park should provide me with his best chance to date, for a maiden victory in the class with Team Traction Control Yamaha.

I am currently in sixth place in the championship standings – just two points behind my team-mate James Rispoli, but with fourth and third placed finishes at Oulton Park back in May; and with a feature race lap record to boot, I am confident of a victory this weekend.

My outlook for the Championship is to finish as the top Team Traction Control rider, but the ultimate goal is to win races. I have been putting a big effort in with my fitness and training this past few weeks, so the aim is to be up there challenging for wins in the final eight races this season.

I need to up my game a little, but I must also remember I’m a rookie in the class and have had five podiums this season already. Yes I’ve had too many non-finishes but it has taken me a while to fully gel with the TTC Yamaha.

At the last Oulton Park round I came away with a podium and the fastest lap in the feature race, when really I should have won the race. The goal this weekend is to pick up where we left off, but a top step is my main focus.
